A Little Bit About Me...
This gentle giant of a donkey came to us as a foster with some tough hoof issues. But thanks to a lot of special care, he’s standing tall and loving life. While his best friend, Poppi, has sadly passed away, Compadre is still thriving, enjoying his peaceful days full of sunshine and cuddles. He’s a laid-back, affectionate soul who we’ve officially adopted as part of our Sanctuary family, and we’re so happy to help him heal and grow stronger every day.

Compadre is incredibly sweet and loves to give hugs to everyone, except for Dr. Metcalf. He’s a bit of a troublemaker when it comes to the vet and can be difficult to sedate—making it tough for Dr. Metcalf to work on his feet. Despite his gentle demeanor, Compadre has some high-maintenance habits. He insists on having a special food topper, or he won’t eat his meals! As an older gentleman, he’s developed his own set of preferences (and vets aren’t exactly on the list).

Compadre, our elderly donkey, arrived with chronic foot issues that we’ve been managing with regular podiatry visits. For over a year, Dr. Metcalf has been working tirelessly to improve his hoof health and overall comfort.
